A lawyer and a paranormal mystery horror movie director investigate the frightening events surrounding an architect's grandson who has been plagued by dark visions and supernatural occurrences. Director Adam Robitel (Insidious Chapter 3), proficiently crafted this suspenseful horror film that applies a psychologically-based perspective of the characters, which is engaging and results in a captivating experience for audiences. This horror/thriller was created with both its tense and engaging story line, along with its anthology-like investigations, which is why it can be enjoyed by many different age groups of audiences. After discovering that there are ghostly creatures in the house, Elise is able to find out they are linked around her family's former home, but her brother isn't around anymore. The house had been abandoned by his parents who became famous for catching ghosts they viewed on TV shows. Elise is a medium and a parapsychologist. This allows her to see and communicate with ghosts, and it helps her in finding out what happened to her brother in his own house. This is when Elise decides to talk to Quinn Brenner (Angus Sampson), a former client of hers who had appeared on TV with his paranormal research team for years, but he failed his career after one of the team members was killed by a ghost. Elise asks Quinn for help because she believes that he can help her solve the mystery of her brother's death because she thinks that the problem is linked to the house where they used to live in their childhood. The two of them decide to investigate the house where Elise's brother died, and they both go inside together. The house had been abandoned the last time because it had been haunted by a poltergeist that was linked to a woman's death that happened a few years ago, but no one realized that the house was haunted then. Elise helps Quinn in getting rid of the ghost from his team members' death, but it makes her realize what had been going on with her brother ever since he aged from a child to an adult. Elise is able to find out what really happened in the old house where they grew up, which makes her see ghosts again.
